China to Malaysia -- Prohibited Items for International Transport
Based on Seapoe's prohibited items policy and Malaysian customs enforcement standards, the following items cannot be shipped:
- Food, medicine, health supplements, cigarettes, tea, cosmetics, liquids, powders, pastes (including toiletries, skincare products, perfumes, etc.) — these categories are strictly prohibited in international freight. Malaysian customs inspects them rigorously. We recommend carrying them in your hand luggage on your flight.
- Animal and plant skins/fur, seeds, specimens, ivory products (including crafts, jewelry, bracelets, etc.) — protected under endangered species regulations and strictly banned from entry by customs.
- Items containing lithium batteries or built-in batteries — such as vacuum cleaners, power tools, and motorized curtains. These are classified as dangerous goods and prohibited on both ocean and air freight. Batteries must be removed for separate transport, and you must provide an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and a maritime transport appraisal report before shipping.
- Furniture and antiques made from nationally endangered wood species (including crafts, jewelry, bracelets, etc.) — especially antique mahogany furniture dating before 1949, which falls under cultural property protection restrictions.
- Flammable and explosive materials, non-kitchen knives, weapons, etc. — explicitly prohibited by customs.
- Securities, currency, gold, silver, jewelry, watches, other valuables, and cultural relics — personal effects shipping does not cover high-value, easily lost items.
- Books and media involving pornography, politics, or subversive content — Malaysian customs enforces a zero-tolerance policy for such materials.
